What is agentic commerce for service providers?
Agentic commerce for service providers means selling AI and cloud services that people and AI agents can find, buy and use, then metering, pricing and invoicing that usage correctly through every reseller tier.
The term gets used for four different things. Hybr is not a consumer checkout tool — we work in the last three. The billing side is often called agentic billing: pricing, metering and invoicing AI agent usage. Hybr adds what service providers need on top — resellers, MSP margins and internal chargeback.
01 · CONSUMER CHECKOUT
Consumer shopping agents that check out for a person
02 · B2B AGENT BUYING
Business buying where an AI agent compares, quotes or orders
03 · AI USAGE BILLING
Billing for AI and agent use: tokens, GPU time, AI apps
04 · BILLING AGENTS
AI agents that run billing operations

AI BILLING FOR MSPs AND RESELLERS
How do MSPs and resellers bill clients for AI usage?
Your customers buy AI by the token. Your billing still counts seats. Here is where it breaks — and how Hybr fixes it.
1
Seat-based billing can’t meter AI usage
AI is used by the token, the GPU-hour and the app call — not by the user.
Hybr: meters LLM tokens by model, GPU time, AI app usage and any unit you define, per tenant.
2
Margin leaks between tiers
Distributors, resellers and customers each need their own price — and your upstream bills need checking.
Hybr: rates usage on each tier’s price list and reconciles upstream invoices, with a person approving each fix.
3
Multiple tools to bill one customer
Licences in one system, AI usage in another, invoices in a spreadsheet.
Hybr: one catalog and one invoice for Microsoft licences, tokens, GPU capacity and apps — with quotas per tenant.
LLM TOKEN BILLING
Resell AI through every tier — and keep your margin at each one.
LLM token billing for service providers, from the model provider’s bill to your customer’s invoice. Click each tier.
Upstream providers
Model providers, clouds and Microsoft bill you. Hybr’s billing operations agents reconcile those upstream invoices against what Hybr metered, and a person approves each fix.
You, the provider
Meter every LLM token by model, GPU-hour and AI app per tenant, using virtual keys per project. Set your offers, plans and price lists in one catalog.
Distributors and resellers
Each reseller gets its own price list and margin, and can sell under its own brand through a white-label storefront.
End customers
One invoice for Microsoft licences, tokens, GPU time and apps, with quotas per tenant — or an internal chargeback for enterprise teams.
AGENTIC BILLING · FOUR PILLARS

PILLAR 01
Sell to agents
Agents can find, quote, subscribe and provision through Hybr’s REST APIs, webhooks and MCP server. Your storefront becomes readable by machines as well as people.

Bill for agents: Token-to-Invoice
Meter tokens by model, AI apps, GPU time and any unit you define. Rate them on tenant, reseller or internal price lists, then invoice with your margin — or charge back to cost centres.

Run on agents
Billing operations agents reconcile upstream invoices, prepare renewals, triage exceptions and answer billing questions. Every action is human-approved, with rollback and a full audit trail.

Settle between agents
Hybr supports protocol-neutral agent payment mandates and payment rails, with multi-party settlement across provider, reseller and ISV — so agents can pay each other as easily as they buy from you.
Payment mandatesPayment railsMulti-party settlementOne platform for everything you bill
Microsoft licences, LLM tokens, GPU time, AI apps and agents all move through the same seven steps, so nothing is billed twice and nothing slips through.
Step 1 of 7
Catalog
Everything you sell or provide, in one place.
Step 2 of 7
Offer
Bundle items into what each customer, reseller or team can buy.
Step 3 of 7
Plan
Set the terms: monthly, annual or pay-as-you-go, with quotas.
Step 4 of 7
SKU
The billable unit, set up per tenant and per reseller.
Step 5 of 7
Meter
Usage is counted as it happens, for every tenant.
Step 6 of 7
Rate
The right price list is applied: tenant, reseller or internal.
Step 7 of 7
Invoice
One invoice with your margin, or a chargeback to each cost centre.
INTERNAL COMMERCE
AI chargeback and showback, down to the token.
The same engine works inside a company. Enterprise IT teams use it to run an internal service catalog, set quotas and budgets, and send internal invoices to cost centres — so every token, GPU-hour and app is charged back to the team that used it.
Showback when you only want visibility. Chargeback when each team pays its own way.

Agentic commerce and AI billing: frequently asked questions
What is agentic commerce?
Agentic commerce is commerce where AI agents discover, compare, quote or buy on behalf of a person or organisation. The term covers consumer shopping agents, business buying through agents, billing for AI and agent usage, and agents that run billing systems. Hybr works in the last three, for service providers and enterprise IT.
What is agentic billing?
Agentic billing usually means pricing, metering and invoicing the usage of AI agents and AI features. For service providers it also means billing that usage through resellers, and letting AI agents call billing systems directly. Hybr covers both: token-to-invoice billing, and agent-callable billing APIs with an MCP server.
How do MSPs bill clients for AI usage?
MSPs bill AI usage by metering what each client consumes — LLM tokens by model, AI app usage and GPU time — then pricing it on that client’s plan and adding it to the same invoice as their licences and services. Hybr does this per tenant and per reseller, with quotas per tenant to keep usage in check.
How do you bill for LLM tokens across resellers?
Hybr meters token usage by model and tenant through its LLM Gateway, using virtual keys per project. It then rates that usage at each tier — your price to the reseller, and the reseller’s price to the customer — and produces the right invoice at every level, with white-label branding where resellers need it.
What is the difference between chargeback and showback for AI?
Showback reports each team’s AI and cloud usage and cost without billing them. Chargeback goes a step further and sends each business unit an internal invoice for what it used. Hybr supports both from the same engine, down to tokens, GPU-hours and AI apps.
How is Hybr different from AI billing tools built for software companies?
Most AI billing tools assume one company billing its own customers. Service providers resell Microsoft licences, GPU capacity, models and apps through distributors and resellers, often under their own brand. Hybr is built for that channel: reseller tiers, white-label storefronts, upstream reconciliation and per-tenant spend control, in one engine.
Can AI agents buy from a Hybr storefront today?
Yes. Agents can query the catalog, request quotes, subscribe and provision services through Hybr’s REST APIs, webhooks and MCP server. Support for agents settling payments directly with each other over payment protocols is the next step we’re building.
What can Hybr meter and bill?
Hybr meters tokens by model through the LLM Gateway, AI app usage, GPU time, VMs, Kubernetes capacity and Microsoft CSP licences, plus any custom unit you define. Each is rated against the right tenant, reseller or internal price list and lands on one invoice.
Does Hybr support internal chargeback for enterprises?
Yes. Enterprise IT teams use the same engine as an internal service catalog, with quotas, budgets, showback and internal invoices to cost centres, so AI and cloud costs are charged back to the business unit that used them.
Do billing agents act on their own?
No. Hybr’s billing operations agents prepare work such as reconciliations, renewals and exception triage, but a person approves each action. Every step is logged with a full audit trail and can be rolled back.
